Change & Transition
Peter Senge (2003:48) says that "The fantasy that somehow organizations can change without personal change, and especially without change on the part of people in leadership positions, underlies many change efforts doomed from the start."
Change doesn't fail because of well planned changes, it fails because there is often a reluctance to engage with the emotional experience and process that people must go through in order to engage with new changes. This process is called transition.
Organisational changes begin with the ending of something for the people involved, and paying attention to that, acknowledging it and talking about it while paving the way forward is the key task in managing change and transition.
This is the focus of change work we do with organisations. Based the work of William Bridges, we support leaders through the change process by focusing on ensuring that in addition to a solid plan for change, the transition process is facilitated.

Organisation Development
One of the most popular approaches to issues of workforce retention is through recruitment strategies. However, increasingly organisations from all industry sectors are facing challenges in filling job positions, and this is forcing a rethink in approaches to workforce capacity issues that include 'whole of organisation' strategies. Organisation Development is such an approach through its emphasis on learning and development at both individual and organisational levels.
Organisation development is a way of looking at opportunities across the whole organisation for developing cultures, structures, staffing practices, and leadership practice in ways that create the kind of organisations where people will want to stay.
